Safe Office Series – Does your company have a plan for returning to the office safely?

We are moving towards a new normal in the office. As we begin the process of returning to the workplace, we have many new considerations. Dealing with COVID-19 has shown us the vulnerabilities in the way we design our workplaces.  This article is the first in a series exploring safer routines related to document technology. We will discuss aspects of your document work-flow you should consider so your team can return to the office safely.

Routines you had before such as running a copy now come with an additional level of risk. There are solutions that can be implemented in your office to improve these processes to make them more touch-less. Options like voice activated controls can minimize employee contact with devices. Consider the long term benefits as we move past this current pandemic. Having  work-flows that limit contact with public surfaces can reduce the spread of illness throughout the office such as colds and flu.

    Remote Access to Documents

Physical filing cabinets can be another source of contamination. A filing cabinet drawer handle can be touched by many workers throughout the day. Filing cabinets can also be a big time waster for teams. On average, a worker can spend seven minutes or more searching for a file. With document management software, that time and safety concern is eliminated. Documents can be retrieved in seconds with no need to touch a common surface. Not only does your team benefit from safer working conditions, but document management software can improve customer service and worker productivity.

Look out for more tips to come in upcoming articles on improving the safety and health of your office environment!
