Hello, today we will be reviewing the setup process for a print queue on a Chromebook for an HP copier. To begin, you're going to have some things that we will need in order to do this process: the copier model, the copier IP address, and to have internet access.
Once we have these things, we're going to open up the settings for the Chromebook. We're going to navigate to the Devices tab and select Print under Printers and Scanners. From here, we are going to select Add printer manually.
Next, we are going to give a name for the device. This is the identifier of the copier, so this can be any name that you like - it can be your office name or your building, whatever you want to name it. For this demonstration, we'll be giving it the model of the copier.
Next, we are going to provide the IP address of the copier, and then we're going to select the Protocol from the dropdown. We're going to choose AppSocket (TCP/IP). Next, we're going to click Add.
On this screen, we are going to choose the model of the copier. When selecting the manufacturer and the model, if your model does not come up, you can choose Generic and choose either Generic Color PCL 6 or Generic Greyscale PCL 6, depending on the capabilities of your copier. In this case, we're going to choose HP and select a model which is present.
After you have selected the model and manufacturer, you're going to click Add. Now you can see the device is now showing up in your printer objects. From here, we're going to test print. I'm going to open up and print a test page here.
When you go to select your Destination, you can click See more, and you can see the device which we just added. From here, you're going to select Print. Then you can select Print jobs here, and you can see the device showed up in the print jobs here, and you can see that it was printed here. Thank you for watching. This concludes our video.
