In this video I'll demonstrate external access to mid-volume Ricoh machines, specifically A3 models, which means that you can print up to 11” by 17”.
I'm going to start at the top with the feeder. If you open this, if you have a misfeed in the feeder with your original, there's another access point if you lift the lid. A gray switch, click to the left, hold your hand there and drop. This gives easy access to the original.
Moving down to the toner section. Toner is very easy to change. Each color just pops out and new ones pop in. New ones are keyed so you don't have to worry about putting one in the wrong slot. Waste toner bottle: open that first drawer and then the door for the waste toner bottle, lift up, pull out the cartridge, and replace with an empty one.
The first paper drawer is 8.5” by 11” only, and is usually set as a priority drawer. Your power switch is right next to that drawer.
Trays two, three, and four are identical, and can be changed simply by moving the green levers and arms snug up against the paper. It will register in the machine as the new size.
Moving over to the side, there are two doors. The paper path goes up on the side of the machine. Blue are access points and they're labeled. A picture will appear on the touchscreen if you have a misfeed and will indicate where to go.
Following the paper path into the bridge unit, these are access points.
If you have an external finisher or stapler, once again blue are access points. Also, this is where you change the staple cartridge. You would pop this out and pop a new one in.
