In this video, I'll demonstrate copy basics on the RICOH machine.

From the home screen, click on Copier Classic. This window is laid out in rows. The top row shows your paper drawers, and if they're red they're empty. The default is auto paper select, or you can choose a specific drawer. The bypass tray is on the far right. [Click] Change Settings. You can change it to envelope, card stock, or several other options, or you can change the thickness manually. Click OK, and that setting will stay until the machine resets or until you click Reset here.

The next row has a couple of presets for reduction and enlargement, and primarily has Auto Reduce Enlarge. This is good for copying from one size to another. For example, from 8.5” by 11” to 11” by 17” without having to figure out the percentage. Just click on Auto Reduce Enlarge, select 11” by 17”, and it will enlarge to that size.

The next row is the duplex row, which is a customizable strip. It has one-sided to two-sided, two-sided to two-sided, two-sided to one-sided, and some additional features such as batch - which is a job build - creating a margin, and an ID card copy for copying two sides of an ID.

The last row will be your sorting and finishing row. If you have a stapler finisher, the staple positions will show up here. This one is not configured with a finisher. The default on the machine is stack mode, or you have sort, which will create sets.

On the left, you can see black and white, full color, or auto color select. Auto color select is good if you have a mix of black and white and color originals. You can use full color or auto color select on any color copy job. Then you have some additional enhancements for text and photo types of photo, glossy printed, copied onto photos, and so forth. At the very bottom: original settings for mixed sizes, if you have letter and legal and would like to copy onto the corresponding size.

On the bottom left, Recall Program/Change Program has 25 presets available. These are great for creating a preset for anything you currently have set up. For example, if you had two-sided to two-sided full color and I want to sort that, you could create a preset for it for easy retrieval in the future.

These buttons are just additional advanced copy features such as cover sheet insertion, editing the color, and creating a stamp. Duplex Combined/Series has everything on the front page plus more, and Reduction / Enlargement.

The Interrupt button will let you interrupt your current copy job to run another copy job, and when you're finished, uncheck it, and it will pick up where the original job left off.

The number pad, Clear, and Start to begin your copy job. Stop if you need to stop it.
